July 22 - (I come from a ) Land Down Under

Other than waking up sweating under the covers and swearing I could see my breath above the covers, I slept well. Aidan’s mom was already awake when I got up at 8:30 and I went in to wake up Aidan. We ended up talking and napping til 10:30 when his mom asked if he could take her back to the city. He got up and made us some breakfast (if it could be called that) and demanded I try a bite of vegemite toast. It was everything I heard it would be: salty!

A dropped me off and I considered going into the city myself, but a guy named JM (from Mexico) texted me to ask if I wanted to go to the Greensborough Mall with him. I had nothing better to do, so I accepted. I grabbed the tram and caught up with him. We jumped on the bus and got to the mall. Mostly we just walked around to see what was there. We stopped in at an “Australian Geographic” store where I found this great stuffed koala made of that really soft material. I considered getting it for Lauren, but figured I would wait til later to pick it up. We continued on and went in Target to see what was there. We went into some candle stores and The Body Shop (I wanted to test out some Body Butter since my skin is flaking off like crazy!) and asked him to pick a scent because my nose was still a bit stopped up. He wouldn’t decide, and I decided $25 was too much for it anyhow, so we moved on…

After taking the wrong bus (again) to get back, we finally got back after a 45 min detour. OK, to be fair, it wasn’t a “wrong” bus, just not an express bus. We went really far out into the suburbs, but we got to see some really great houses and a new area. Other than the fact that I was fading fast, it was an ok mistake. We stopped at the Bundoora shops on the way back and got take away at a noodle shop that was quite tasty.

I got back at 7:30 and just watched movies with my housemates til a cricket game was organized in the hallway. It was hysterical. I took a couple movies of it. (email me if you want to see.)

It must be an aquired taste. I'll give it another go. It's just so salty and I dont like salty foods in the first place.
