Traditional Journalism (orig post 03/04/06)
Assignment two that will be coming up for my Broadcast & Electronic Journalism class has to do with the way "traditional journalism" will be defunct in 15 years. I will be eventually defining the terms and what my position will be. My initial answer is no, it will not ever go completely away, however it will be seriously challenged -specifically by blogging.
More to come...

What is traditional media? How in physical print facing different demands from cyber print? there was a time when printing was costly. then it become cheaper and cheaper for all. then maybe 'traditional media' simply went cyber but did not change any tradition. vanity fair's and playboy's editorials always stood next to the new york times editorials. local and international newspapers always worked in tandem. yet we recognize a 'rupture' in tradition? are we but perpetuating a myth of change when the changes were always occuring? why is it that a person who requests sms news is so different from someone who buys a newspaper? why are they being even compared?

They aren't necessarily being coompared. The point is that people are using different methods and how, when, and if that is affecting the way traditional journalism is presented or functions.
