Dukes of Hazzard
Flew to Sydney with Aidan the morning after Fi’s party. I was pretty tired since the revelry below me went on til nearly 6am. I think I finally passed out from tiredness enough to not hear them around 4am. Anyhow, the flight to Sydney had a stressful moment for me when we hit a bad pocket of turbulence and began to descend. I think I nearly threw up and then remembered I hadn’t even told my mom my flight number. But thankfully, we were able to level off and then the pilot got on to explain why we went lower, but mid talk we hit more turbulence so he stopped talking. Kate’s panic button went off again. And then we leveled off again and he came back to say all was well. The flight attendants had been in the aisle next to us preparing to serve drinks when this all happened and they went white too… so I know it wasn’t just me. I was not a happy flyer.
Anyhow, we made it to Sydney and the guy selling Aidan the car picked us up. We had a quick scenic drive on the way to the garage where the car was; did the paperwork; and we hit the road. The drive was nice. I brought my camera, but we didn’t stop anywhere along the way for me to get pics. The southern Aussie bush is not exactly picturesque, but it’s what I see, and eventually I’ll take some good pics of the terrain here. The drive took about 10-11 hours, with a few stops for food and fuel mixed in. It was a long drive, but it seemed to pass quickly.
